It is the same for both, no?

Matthew 5:45b
He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

In their pre-match interview on their way out to Center Court for the epic 2008 Wimbledon final, both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were asked about the spotty weather. Federer expressed concern about the impending and unpredictable rain. Nadal simply dismissed the issue saying simply, "It is the same for both, no?" There was a lot more said in those brief comments than meets the eye and ear. The underlying attitude behind Nadal's comment is most likely what carried him to victory that day!

Have you ever seen a tennis match where it was raining on one side of the court and not on the other? Dark on one side of the court and light on the other? Loud on one side of the court and quiet on the other? Have you ever seen a tennis match when the opponents did not change sides of the court? Have you ever seen a tennis match where the dimensions of the court were different on opposite side of the court?

All these questions seem absurd in print, but somehow losing players frequently complain about the conditions after they lose, blaming them for their loss.

It is the same for both, no?

Prayer
Dear God, please help me to take responsibility for my actions and performance. Please help me to not blame conditions or circumstances, but to learn from them. Help me to remember that you cause all things to work together for good for all those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
